Dr. Marjanović is a Research Associate at the Neurology Clinic, University Clinical Center of Serbia (UCCS), where she is engaged in the Laboratory for Molecular Genetic Diagnostics of Neurological Diseases. With over 10 years of expertise, her research and clinical focus center on the genetics of neurological disorders and the implementation of novel diagnostic methodologies in neurogenetics.
She completed her undergraduate and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. Her PhD research focused on the prevalence of hexanucleotide repeat expansions in the C9orf72 gene among patients with motor and cognitive-behavioral symptoms. Her earlier work contributed directly to translating genetic techniques into diagnostic practice, particularly optimizing fragment analysis for C9orf72 repeat expansions.
Dr. Marjanović has participated in three national research projects funded by the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, as well as a project supported by the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Currently, she is an active investigator in the Genetic Frontotemporal Dementia Initiative (GENFI), an international collaborative consortium advancing the genetic understanding and diagnostics of frontotemporal dementia.
