Rana Karabudak

Rana Karabudak has been a professor at the University of Hacettepe since 1999 till May 2023. 
Starting with her residency training from 1984 She has been at the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and Hospitals where she has founded and directed the Neuroimmunology Unit-and Clinical MS Centre of Hacettepe University Hospital’s Department of Neurology.
She had her fellowship in MS and clinical neuroimmunology at the Reed Neurological Institute – MS Clinics at the UCLA in 1991-1992.
In 2003 she has had experience with Barry Arnason M.D. and .T.Reder M.D. at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Immunology techniques Laboratory.
Her clinical and scientific interests are in the field of clinical neuroimmunology, mainly immunological aspects of Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis and Neuroradiology of MS.
As a primary investigator she has participated a number of International Multi-Centre drug trials in MS.
She is one of the founders and board member of the European School of Neuroimmunology (ESNI).
She has been the Turkish delegate to EFNS/EAN
Founder and honorary Member of the Turkish MS Society Ankara Branch. Dr.Karabudak is also a member of a number of societies including the American Academy of Neurology (AAN),served as a member in the MS Chapter 
She also served on the Executive Committee of Turkish Neurological Society, and has been in the Advisory Board of Turkish MS Societies and the Editorial Board of the Turkish NeurologicalSociety Journal.

European School of Neuroimmunology 2009 ESNI Award
She authored and co-authored over 160 peer-reviewed articles, over 240 articles, editor of 4 Neurology and 1 Neuroimmunology Textbook, writer of 6 books and several book chapters in English & Turkish.
In May 2023 She has moved to Istanbul Yeditepe University Neurological Sciences Koşuyolu Hospital. 
She is still active in MS and Neuroimmunology Clinical Centers and Neuroimmunology Clinical & Basic Research
