Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sonya Ivanova, MD
Dr. Sonya Ivanova is an Associate Professor at the Medical University of Sofia and Head of the Clinic for Movement Disorders at UMBALNP “St. Naum”, Sofia. She is a neurologist and an expert in multiple sclerosis and movement disorders.
She graduated in Medicine in 1998 and specialized in Neurology in 2004. She obtained her PhD in Multiple Sclerosis in 2016 and holds a Master’s degree in Health Management.
She has completed clinical and research training in Italy and Denmark. She is the author of more than 90 scientific publications and co-author of a neurology textbook. She has represented Bulgaria twice at ECTRIMS and leads expert centers for dystonia, Huntington’s disease, and NMOSD.
