Vladana Marković, MD, PhD (née Špica) graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. Since 2008, she has been working at the Department of Neurology, Clinical Center of Serbia, where she currently serves as a neurologist in the Department of Neurodegenerative Diseases and Movement Disorder, Center for DBS and Botulinum Toxin Therapy Unit.
She completed her neurology residency in 2014 with excellent results and obtained her PhD from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, in 2018. She was appointed Clinical Assistant at the Department of Neurology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, in 2015, and was promoted to the position of Assistant Professor in 2023.
She has undertaken advanced training in Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders at several leading European centers. Her fellowships include a clinical stay at the University Hospital Dresden, Germany, and research fellowship focused on the application of multimodal neuroimaging at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan, Italy.
She has received several honors and awards, including the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) junior award for 2017.
Dr. Marković’s main clinical and research interests include Parkinson’s disease, deep brain stimulation, chorea, dystonia, and the therapeutic application of botulinum toxin in neurological disorders.
